1st world problems
lots of coffee
the rich see danger
as something for kicks
have you ever had nothing left to want?
have you ever found that the american dream
is, after all, just a dream?
and dreams are empty
walk down michigan avenue
have you ever, ever looked down the yellow alleys?
seen the towering fire escapes, dirty and misshapen?
have you ever, ever seen the ones who beg?
not looked at
their beautiful, beautiful eyes
we have solved nothing
slavery is not over
prejudice is not gone
and the world rolls on, groaning.
