the waves

laugh mockingly

and He says

‘be still.’

white beach

waves pound

wind moans

paradise broken

i see you

laughing at their lies

roaring in your anger

moaning in your pain

beautiful broken

you are an ocean

and He says

‘be still.’

pure white sand

your anger rises

a giant white-crested wave

every drop of water in the ocean

your tears, pouring down

you roar

you laugh

a Carpeter

here through the waves

He calls

holds out His hands

the waves-

are still.
